Spring is sooooo, right around the corner. Even though it was quite cool out there today.
This is a "here's yer sign", fish!
1st Jack Crevalle was caught today. By 12 year old Jay. On his 1st fishing trip ever. And his dad's 1st fishing trip ever! They both were 100% NEW!
It kicked his butt on the float-rig.
I believe we're about a week behind last year for, for the 1st Jack. Earliest for me that I can remember is March 2nd or 3rd.
This was one rough looking fish, though. Beat up as all hell.
Afterwards we went to the Mayport Jetties and mustered up a bunch of Whiting on the bottom with FISHBITES, Shrimp pieces, and small pieces of Squid.
