DID A 3 HOUR TRIP WITH 2 LITTLE FISHIN FREAK GIRLS TODAY THAT WERE A WHOPPING 6 AND 8 YEARS OLD....AND MOM AND DAD TOO.

THEY CAUGHT, CROAKERS, WHITING, CATFISH (SALTWATER NASTY ONES) AND A EEL.

AS WE WERE COMING IN THERE WAS A GUY AND WITH A BACK PACK AT THE DOCK, LOOKING FOR A RIDE TO A SHRIMP BOAT OUTSIDE THE INLET.

''IN EXCHANGE FOR SHRIMP!''  

I HAD NOTHING PENDING, SO HE HOPPED ABOARD AFTER BIDDING FAREWELL TO MY JR. ANGLERS, AND WE TOOK 0FF, OUT TO A BIG DRIFTING SHRIMP BOAT JUST OFFSHORE OF THE JETTIES.

HE JUMPED ON THE SHRIMP BOAT, AND HE AND ANOTHER DECK HAND FILLED A BAG WITH FRESH LARGE SHRIMP AND DROPPED IT ON MY BOW. 

LUCKY ME!

THE SEA WAS LAKE FLAT, SO I GOT TO RUN MY SUZUKI FLATOUT ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE DOCK.

A REAL RARITY.  MY MECHANIC GUY SAYS I SHOULD RUN ''WIDE OPEN' AT LEAST A HOUR EVERY FEW TRIPS.

'CARBON BURN OFF?''  I THE CAR WORLD THEY CALL THAT A ITALIAN TUNE UP.

EASIER SAID THEN DONE. WITH THE SEAS, TUG BOAT AND SHIP WAKES, AND CUSTOMERS ON BOARD. THAT JUST DOESN'T WORK OUT MUCH, IF EVER!

I ENDED UP CLEANING ABOUT 5 POUNDS OF THE SHRIMP, CALLED MOM AND DAD, AND TOLD MOM GET THE PASTA AND SAUCE GOING....I'M HEADING OVER.

WE ATE LIKE ROYALTY. PASTA, A ''LOT'' OF SHRIMP WITH A CREAMY SAUCE WITH HEAVY PARMESAN CHEEZE. 

W-O-W IT WAS GOOD!   


WHILE CLEANING UP THE BOAT, I EVEN GOT A VISIT FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD HAWK, WHO ISN'T AFRAID AT ALL OF ME...AS LONG AS I KEEP THE BIRD BATH FULL.

A EMAIL I RECEIVED. 😲😲😲😲 For anyone who gets notifications from the FWC, I am sure by now we have all seen that they are trying to change rules on Spotted Seatrout. What they are doing here should be criminal. First I want to remind everyone, that the FWC did a survey last year, and after a bit of study, put out a presentation stating that the Trout Fishery in Florida is doing just FINE! Trout are NOT over fished. Trout are NOT going to go extinct. In fact, the fishery is doing VERY WELL. It's abundant and increasing. Basically what they want to do is. Decrease Bag Limits across the state. Change the Keeper size from 15" to 20" with 1 over 20" to 15 to19 with NO over size EVER. Lower size limits for commercial anglers. Folks, we can NOT let this happen. This change is being brought about by a few individuals from a few known groups who just want to complain about fishing. The sky is falling and they are taking too many fish and killing them off crowd. Their assumptions are NOT based on science, they are based on fallacy and emotionally driven. Whenever we let the pass laws based on someone's emotions BAD THINGS happen. Look how they destroyed the Red Snapper Fishery. Look how they destroyed the Black Seabass Fishery. Now they are after the Spotted Seatrout. Look, I get it, if a species is in trouble we need to work towards fixing that. We have done that many times in the past, look at the huge success story we have with Red Drum. When we took that hard freeze which knocked out the Snook, they did rule changes to protect them, We Get That! and understand that!! But what they want to do with Trout here, is NOT based on any science that the fish are in trouble, or going to be in trouble, it is being done all because a few people complained without using the facts. They (FWC) have even mentioned this in this latest presentation by saying, "A Few People have Voiced Concern over bla bla bla", so therefore we want to do this (to appease them). Folks, PLEASE, we can NOT let them get away with this AGAIN. Even if you only fish once or twice a year, please join us in letting FWC know that we will NOT let them make rules on feelings, that laws MUST be based on fact and Science! If we keep letting them do this, they will slowly take all our fishing rights away. FWC is soliciting comments before they make final judgement on this measure. I urge everyone PLEASE, PLEASE!! do your civic duty and goto the FWC website and voice your concerns over this. If you scroll down a bit, there is a drop down menu where you can pick the topic, please pick Spotted Seatrout. You can update your Facebook status 20 times a day, you can spend 2 hours on twitter and the rest of the morning texting your BFF. Can you find 5 minutes to take care of this too? Trust me, you will be happy you did! Think about it, you will get to tell all your facebook friends how you took an ACTIVE part in saving Trout fishing for all your kids and grandkids! Those who do not like fishing / hunting, etc always make sure their voices are heard. That is why we are here right now at this spot. Let's show them that they can not get away with bullying us anymore and speak OUR minds as well! Thank you Aaron Scholten. **** Dear FWC: Recently you solicited comments regarding impending changes to the Spotted Trout Fishery. I ask that you please DO NOT do this. Last year you did a presentation stating that the Spotted SeaTrout fishery was doing very well, and thriving. There is NO scientific reason to decrease bag limits. Laws should be created based on science and facts, NOT emotions or because someone thinks something might be true. Please use Science and Facts to make decisions that would reduce or possibly even eliminate our fishing experience with Trout. Threatening to reduce a fishery just to make someone feel good is a terrible idea. Remember, fishing is also a livelihood for many individuals too. Taking food out of someone's mouth when there is no reason to is NOT something an honorable Floridian would do! Please do not ruin our Trout Fishing. Thank you for your consideration.

STARTED THE DAY JIGGING UP ''GREENIES'' BY JIGGING UP DOZENS. AT THE END OF THE NORTH JETTY.

EASILY ONE OF MY FAVORITE BAITFISH. LIKE THESE WAY MORE THAN ANY ''POGY''.  STRONGER, LIVE LONGER, SPEEDIER, FLASHIER!

TRIED STANDING UP IN THE BOAT WHILE AT END OF N. JETTY.....ABOUT IMPOSSIBLE. IT WAS ''SLOP CHOPPY'' TO THE MAX.

TOOK OFF TOWARD SOUTHEAST HOLE AREA AND DROPPED BAITS IN 38' OF WATER ON DOWNRIGGER AND ONE BEHIND THE BOAT 100 FEET ON SURFACE, FOR A KINGFISH.....???

SHRIMP BOATS WERE ALL OVER TO THE SOUTH, BUT WANTED TO NOT GET FAR AWAY, BECAUSE AFTER THE TIDE STARTED TO FALL GOOD, HAD PLANS TO FEED SOME BIG REDFISH A GREENIE OR TWO.

NO BITES TROLLING AFTER A HOUR OR SO.

RAN, BACK TO INLET AND DOWN RIVER AND GOT ON A SPOT, AND DROPPED GREENIES OUT JUST OFF THE BOTTOM, USING A LIGHT WEIGHT IN CURRENT. WHICH HELD THEM OFF THE STRUCTURE BELOW.

INSTANTLY........TWO BIG BULL REDFISH HOOKED UP. 

LOST BOTH!!!!

BREAK-OFF'S, AND PULLED HOOKS.

AS WE SAT THERE, ENDED UP LOOSING 5 MORE BULL REDS AT LEAST AND THE SMALLEST ONE, WAS THE ONLY ONE MY GUYS GOT TO THE BOAT!

31 INCHES 10 POUNDS.

WOW.....COULD HAVE BEEN QUITE EPIC. IF ALL WERE BROUGHT TO THE BOAT.

I WAS SOAKED TO MY FRUIT OF THE LOOM'S, MY LEATHER SHOES WERE FULL OF WATER, THE INSIDE OF MY TRUCK WAS SOAKED....AND IT WON'T BE THE LAST TIME, EITHER.

WAS UP AT 3AM

WAS AT BOAT RAMP AT 4AM ❗❗❗❗

CHARTER CUSTOMERS WERE TO SHOW UP AT 7AM.......yeah, I like my usually parking spot. and best docking spot. 

Jigged up ''threadfin herring'' GREENIES, AT THE TIP OF NORTH JETTY.

Headed straight to the south rip line......full moon still.......falling tide in the morning.

Fished Greenies on a dead ''slow'' troll along color change.

had 16 year old boy, throwing up lower intestine.....and it was CALM in my book!

it was Saturday morning, just AFTER A TWO DAY KING MACKEREL TOURNAMENT ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY!!   more Summer LUNACY!

caught only one small shark, ''slow trolling''

decided to run to my ''usual'' offshore spots where we've caught BIG triggerfish, a approx. 500 pound TIGER SHARK, short and keeper Cobia, a 100's of Barracuda's before (video proof on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL)  

Didn't have my ''MARKER JUG'', on the boat. So, I had to use my GPS, constantly, while drifting to re-locate the spots constantly. Pain in the azz.

My 3 customers, who never fished, had to LEARN FAST how to, as time was of the essence.

Got boarded by the USCG out there.....Y-E-S, BIG BROTHER WON'T EVEN LET YOU FISH FOR SNAPPER WITHOUT A BIT OF ''we're watching Y-O-U'' .

I of course get ''boarded constantly''.....and had my GOLD, good as GOLD, safety inspection paper from 2 weeks ago from a boarding in the river. So. it went fast. PLUS, the Coasties went and got the kid on my boat some sea-sick pills back at the ship that was following around the small ''rib'' boat they were using to go from boat to boat in. 

Tried to save my LIVE BAITS all day for more tries for Kingfish on the slow troll.......but decided to get a B-I-G-G-E-R Snapper, which would come off live Greenie INSTEAD of dead Pogie cut bait.

And yes it did.....LARGEST  snapper was 8 pounds.

FORGOT, how bottom fishing with just 2-3 people on the boat, on the drift keeps me ''steppin & fetchin'' constantly.  

And the boats a utter mess by the time its all over. (unlike float-rig fishing inshore which is very clean fishing) 

My crew really had fun.....''maybe not the boy Eric.''
