IT'S NOVEMBER....'THE BEST'', IS THE WORD TO DESCRIBE A COLD MORNING❗
call Momma ๐๐๐
.....tell her to get the fryin' pan ready!! ITS GO TIME, Speckled Trout ''double๐headers'', limits of tasty Specks for Grandpa' and Grandson on Capt Dave's JETTYWOLF 11/2&3 (PLUS a 31 inch Redfish and pile of big Croakers)
THESE TWO GUYS DID TWO DAYS IN A ROW....FISHED THRU A COLD FRONT ON SATURDAY COMING BY, AND THEN ON SUNDAY, IT WAS ''GLORIOUS''
HAD ROB AND JOE ABOARD THE JETTYWOLF AGAIN.....another day that was mighty challenging. The south breeze was ''bucking'' the flooding tide, and running all our lines up under the boat, which was sooooo aggravating outside the jetties. (north jetty)
We fished all over the jetties. -outside the north - calm -outside the south - slop city, hold on and fish!! -inside the north jetty - caught a NEW ANCHOR!! exactly the same as the kind I use. A 18# reef & rock anchor, with chain and a bunch of anchor line (too small for my boat) FINALLY, after all the anchors I lost, I get PAY BACK, and get a freebie! Caught lots of Ladyfish, and used them for the Bull Redfish. I had Pogies, but fresh CHUNKIN' baits were so much better, and after the wicked TIDE slowed, and it got easier for my guys to fish, we got a HALLOWEEN sight.
Joe was hooked up......Joe was battling another bull Red.......Then his line broke, under the boat.
I looked at his mono shock leader tied to his ''Capt Dave's Strong Arm rig'', that was gone and it was frayed big time.
I said, ''what ever that was had teeth!''........When off the side of the boat pops up his Bull Red!
IT WAS ONLY A H-E-A-D, OF A BULL REDFISH!
Two Sharks circled it....then one ate a 10 pound Redfish head whole....and it was gone! BTW THE GUYS DID CATCH SOME BULL REDS THAT WEREN'T EATEN! HERE'S A FEW.
IF YOU MISSED IT, HERE'S ONE EATEN IN THE RIVER BY A BIG SHARK A FEW WEEKS AGO.
AND HERE'S A NICE ONE A ''FISHIN GAL'' CAUGHT, THAT I FORGOT TO POST. (on a 20 kt wind boat waked every 2 seconds, Saturday!)
I'M REALLY WANTING TO GET BACK TO FLOAT-RIG FISHING,
FISHING THE ''FLOAT-RIG'', IT TOO CATCHES SHEEPSHEAD
GOT THE SAME TWO GUYS ''BACK TO BACK'', THIS WEEKEND. (ugh ๐๐ weekends!...I'm spoiled fishing weekdays) WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS THEN. -dreaming of a day thats not windy!!!!!!! ****rescheduled Friday (today! Nov. 1) because of 20 knot NE winds, and front pushing thru. CALL: 904-642-9546 8am-7pm to reserve your day in advance (days, not hours)

Capt. Dave's Sport Fishing, Jacksonville, Florida INSHORE/COASTAL CHARTERS SINCE 1996
CARMEX GROUP, first spot. Lots of bites. No hook ups. Then, like a light swtch, Redfish on live Mullet.
LATE START didn't leave dock till 12:30pm on Saturday 10/5, while a bull Redfish Tournament was going on. Also had Jack Crevalles......After this we went and fished shrimp for; Croakers, hardhead cats, Seabass, Whiting, and I had a big fish hooked up on dead shrimp and it broke me off.
Capt Dave's Sport Fishing, Jacksonville Charter Fishing, since 1996, 7 days a week, 12 months a year.
WANT TO HELP SUPPORT MORE JAX FLORIDA FISHING, REVIEWS, TESTS, BOAT MAINTENANCE VIDEOS?? YOUR SUPPORT IS ALWAYS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

"JETTYWOLF LIVE" - 10/2/2019 Epic flood tides. Not my favorite.
''Dave & Dave''...St. Johns River. 'Green water'' fishing. Jacksonville Florida. Started out fishing LIVE shrimp, hunting Speckled Sea Trout. That, just wasn't working! The current every where was just too fast! NO TROUT. Said, heck with it and just anchored up along a edge, and cast Mullet out......INSTANT ACTION, but only one sweetheart 20'' Sea Trout, and 25'' Redfish. The rest, just ''JC's'', Jack Crevalles and the Green fish with TEETH. Bluefish! Tackle used, if ya'll catfishermen are interested: UGLY STIK TIGER MED. LIGHT ACTION RODS, AND SHIMANO TRITON TR 100G REELS. A very good light weight combo, that can also handle a giant Redfish, 40 pounds......THAT WE DID NOT GET BIT FROM. MY LAST VIDEO: ''A Capt. Dave Q & A'' https://youtu.be/jGQhH6ObrRk
As I understand it, but I could be wrong. The Jax Boat Club is mostly family folks. Looking for a enjoyable day on the water, that for what ever reason, don't want to dive into boat ownership, boat storing, boat maintenance, boat towing.
"all those other things that are so wonderful about owning something that's soaked in saltwater" (sarcasm)
I know first hand (and second and third hand) because of the nature of my business. (23 year charter fishing guide) How hard it is many times for people to even feel a bite! Or know when their sinker hits the bottom, and how to keep it there, while simply bottom fishing the St. Johns River. Around here, it's a learned skill, fishing that current!
(aka: Tide)
And I won't even add youngsters into this conversation!
That's when my "Broken Record", starts to play!
The traditional, Float-Rig.
I most likely mentioned it, many times last year. And like a broken record, here I am mentioning it again.
So what's so special about fishing the Float-Rig? First off, instead of fighting the current (tide), you'll use it to your advantage. Secondly, you never have to "feel" the bottom, or a "bite", because it's a visual fishing technique, just watch your ''float''. Thirdly, no fancy tackle is needed. Light weight rods and reels, friendly for all to use. And fourthly, starting RIGHT NOW through Mother's day. Is the best time of year to utilize the Float-Rig.
Bait, is always a live Shrimp. Everything eats a Shrimp. So that means, "you can catch ANYTHING!"
Here's a Bonita, (little tunny) caught by Tom O. on the float-rig at the Mayport Jetties. Not a everyday catch!
There's many side benefits of learning how to float-rig fish, also.
-You'll learn more about water movement, current velocity.(how the tides work)
-How to fish structure.
-Precision anchoring.
Leanne, isn't a pro-angler. But caught this 23 lb. Bull Redfish using a Float-Rig on the rod and reel behind her.
Not much larger than Bass tackle!
Take it from me. You can learn. And if you need it, I CAN HELP.

ORIGINAL SUZUKI WATER PRESSURE VALVE REPLACEMENT ON 2013 DF250.
I GET MY PARTS SUPER FAST VIA BOATS.NET IN GEORGIA. MANY TIMES, SHIPPING IS 1 DAY, USING THE EXPRESS SHIPPING METHOD, TO JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. (a tip, for DIY persons)
TODAY'S REASON FOR CHANGING THE WATER PRESSURE VALVE IS BECAUSE IT NEVER HAS BEEN IN 5 YEARS.
BUT SINCE I'VE RYDLYME FLUSHED THE DIRTY ST. JOHNS RIVER OUT OF MY SUZUKI, BECAUSE I HAD A CLOGGED FUEL COOLER, CHANGED EVERY SINGLE FUEL FILTER, SPARK PLUGS, GEAR LUBE, TRAILER BEARINGS, T-STATS, INTERNAL ANODES.......
BESIDES THE WATER PUMP AND A OIL CHANGE (not needed yet), THE WATER PRESSURE VALVE WAS OVER DUE.
AT 5000 RPM's I'M GETTING ENGINE TEMPS UP TO 170 DEGREES. NOT SURE IF LOCAL WATER TEMPS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. BUT THAT SEEMS A BIT HIGH TO ME.
MY SUZUKI T-STATS ARE 122 DEGREE T-STATS, THAT COME FROM SUZUKI. AND ARE WHAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN MY MOTOR.
2013 250 hp. --------------------------------------------here's more maintenance videos you need to watch, if you run the dirty, salty St. Johns River like I do.....''and I'm extremely meticulous about flushing the motor''.....and even more now, so you need to watch this: https://youtu.be/7ZYwh9e2ZD8
I HAVE TO DO ALL MY SOLO FISHING ON THE CHEAP. SO I DON'T RUN AROUND A LOT, WASTING FUEL.
SO I PICK A AREA AND WILL WORK IT THRU THE GOOD AND BAD.
BUT HAS IT'S BENEFITS!
L-E-A-R-N-I-N-G THE AREA. I FISH AREAS I MAY NEVER HAVE DROPPED ANCHOR ON BEFORE. IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT!

YES, THE ST. JOHNS RIVER IS FULL OF DIRT, MUD, WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT.
HERE'S PROOF❗❗❗❗ WATCH AND LEARN WHAT THIS WATER CAN DO TO YOUR FUEL COOLER AND INSIDE YOUR OUTBOARD IN F-I-V-E SHORT YEARS. https://youtu.be/7ZYwh9e2ZD8
- 9/22/2019 OVER A WEEK OF HIGH WINDS. HURRICANE PASSING IN ATLANTIC, TROPICAL STORM HITS TEXAS, LOTS OF WEATHER BROUGHT US A LOT OF WIND!
SO MUCH, HERE'S A COMMON OCCURRENCE WHERE I LIVE....''THE TREES WREAKING HAVOC!'' BEEN THERE, EXPERIENCED IT.
BUT, AT THE SAME TIME. THE WATER'S COOLING. AND THE AIR IS COOLING. AND OCTOBER ''FALL' FISHING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.
WHY IS IT A BIG DEAL? BECAUSE, WE'RE ALL READY FOR A CHANGE! EVEN THE FISH.
BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION IS...''FISHING INSHORE, THE RIVERS, INLETS, ETC. IS BEST WHEN YOU'RE ON VACATION.'' W-R-O-N-G ❗❗ IT'S NOT. IT'S JUST TOO HOT, WHEN YOU COME WITH THE KIDS.
I PERSONALLY DESPISE SUMMER. I LIKE, COOLER TO COLD WEATHER, BETTER FISHING, BETTER SPECIES, MORE BAIT MOVING.
BUT WHAT DO I KNOW❓ NO ONE PAYS ANY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY, OR THE FACTS. BECAUSE YOU DO WHAT YOU'LL DO.
๐ฆWANT TO LEARN WHAT I'VE MASTERED OVER THE YEARS? WANT TO EASILY CATCH MULTI-SPECIES? ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL, THRU THE DEEPEST COLDEST DAYS DURING A NORTH EAST FLORIDA WINTER??
Since 1996, Capt. Dave's Sport Fishing has been your full-time 12 months a year, 7 days a week, family charter with no long boat rides, largest inshore boat, with most shade, most fishing room, and safest for the least experienced to the most. Advanced reservations a must. FALL-WINTER, best quality trips are a max of 3 persons. ''Less is more'' VERSATILITY is the key, to success. Ask about my Reasonable Rates, just show up dressed for success, and a lunch and drinks. Everything else is provided.
GUESS, IT'S GOT TO DO WITH A TROPICAL STORM DUMPING ON TEXAS, AND THE TAKING OFF TO THE NORTH OUT IN THE SEA HURRICANE AT THE SAME TIME. SEPT. SUCKS. ALWAYS HAS!!
THIS IS ALL I NEED TO SEE. THE WEATHER STATION RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOAT RAMP IN MAYPORT. EVEN OVER NIGHT....LOADS OF WIND! WATER IS COOLING THOUGH. ALONG WITH AIR TEMPS.
MOST LIKELY THE LEAST PAID ATTENTION TOO....''I WALK AROUND THE BOAT RAMP IN THE MORNINGS, AND LOOK AT ALL THE SHINEY FANCY BOAT TRAILERS, THAT BELONG TO ALL THE BIG ''COOL GUY'' BOATS...AND I ALSO SEE THE MOST NEGLECTED TRAILERS, TOO. I WONDER HOW THEY MADE IT TO THE RAMP, THAT MORNING? IN THIS VIDEO, I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT I DO. AND HOW I TRY MY BEST TO BE PREPARED FOR A ''TIRE ISSUE''...AND I'VE HAD MY FAIR SHARE OVER THE YEARS. I'VE EVEN HELPED OTHER FISHING GUIDES. THAT HAVE NO PREP AT ALL, FOR WHEN ISSUES ARISE, WHICH AMAZES ME! MY BOAT IS MY LIFE. EVERYTHING I HAVE IS WRAPPED UP IN IT. AND ALTHOUGH MY '16 YEAR OLD'' WORN HARD ROLLS AXLE TRAILER ISN'T IN THE BEST SHAPE.
